This is the first in the Medium series that I've read but what a way to start. I enjoyed Pauline very much with all her faults. Amanda was wonderful too and since I've sat in a steam room with skinnier women, this scene was hilarious to me. Mack - wow, just wow. There is so much I'd like to say beyond this with the characters, but I would have spoilers for those who should read this book. The twist and surprise in Hollywood Hills about Amanda is fantastic. I pre-ordered this book so I could get it right away even though I have Kindle Unlimited. It's well worth the cost and I would recommend it to anyone who likes this genre. If you aren't sure about this genre, this is a great book to check out.Product details

I am hoping this book will be another hit for Ms. Paludan. I received this book as an ARC. I read the first book in the Medium Mysteries series, Echo Park, by Elizabeth Basque and am quite pleased with Ms Paludan's portrayal of the characters. Since this is a transition book I believe Ms. Paludan took the characters and developed them even further than Ms. Basque. The characters are much more alive now and show more depth and strength. As suggests in Hollywood Hills, Pauline Ocean, the medium, has become an accomplished drunk, a terrible best friend, and some what of a drain on those around her especially her ghost mentor Mack. She takes people and situations for granted and seems determined to loose her gifts and craft. Ms. Paludan, in her usual practical style, uses the several situations in the book to bring Pauline to a "come to Jesus" realization that life is not always about her, Pauline Ocean. Pauline realizes if she doesn't change her self-destructive behavior, she will not only lose her lively hood, but her mentor and best friend, Mack. My only question is Can a ghost and a live person ever have an intimate relationship and live happily ever after?
Such fun to read
This book is not my cup of tea. I don't believe I would care to read anymore books about this subject.
This series,and all the books I've read from this author,grabs you at the beginning of one of the best rides you could ask for. Love each and every one
I loved this book and I really enjoyed this series. I like everything by JR Rain. Don't miss out on the action in this series!
I do appreciate the attempt to finish the story. Geez, talk about a turn around..very, very disappointed. This book reads like the diary of a teenage girl. I wanted to like it, which is why I bought it, and read it. Can't believe I did.
Good fun read. I didn't put it down. Sort of a chic folic type. Maybe a little sappy but enjoyable. Lots of new insights to the characters . Loved that they finally got together... I can't say more w/o giving anything away. Good read. Fun read too.
