I was a little reluctant to read this book... being in the mind of a serial killer even if it was just fictiously is not something I'm generally interested in but that being said I found this book very gripping and I am thanful that there wasn't too much gore. Enough to make the reader uncomfortable but not too much that it was over the top. The only part I found kind of baffling was the woman at the end (I won't say her name so as not to spoil anything), but there wasn't really any forshadowing that would indicate a motive on her part... but maybe that's to come in the next book. There is a lot of British slang that I found amusing as well. Overall, I would recommend this book to readers looking for a dark and gripping psychological thriller.

Great read love it
I read a lot of books and this book moves up to one of my top 5 reads. It is very erotic and intense at the same time. I like the way it goes into the past then back to the present. It keeps you on edge not knowing what is going to happen next. I read this book in 3 days because it is one of those books where you just don't want to stop reading it. Thumbs up to the author. Very well done.
S C Cunningham writes stunning accounts of the rich and famous! I was mesmerized with the way these people live and act and read the book in one sitting. All I can say is I can't wait for the follow-up to this eye-opening account of stars and athletes. Bravo Ms. Cunningham - keep writing everything you have ever seen because I find it quite exotic and crazy.
Cunningham writes with insight and passion. I was entertained from start to finish. David has something for everyone. Lesbian, gay, hetero, bi, metro and of course anyone that loves a good murder mystery. Cunningham will have you on the edge of your bed, chair, toilet or any place else you read it. The ending was not what i expected and i am patiently awaiting part 2!!!!!
I also purchased David for my 83 yr. old Aunt, who is also enjoying it.
I read the penance list in less than two days.. This book is addicting,humorous at all the right moments, vivid and just pure crazy! I loved it!!! I couldn't get enough. The author has absoulutley succeeded in an amazing story that has it all. Thank you ! I look forward to reading "For my sins" when it comes out!
DAVID The Penance List is a compelling novel. Even though the read is 470 pages, I found myself snatching it up every chance I could, wanting to see what David would do next. The book is dark, naughty...sometimes downright nasty. Cunningham's first novel will hold your attention to the very end.
It was a tad confusing at times, but well thought out plot. I have to say that I enjoyed this book. Nice twist and all.
