In the Heiress Bride Coulter, gives the reader a chance to follow the continuing saga of the Sherbrooke family through the lone female of her generation. The heiress, Sinjin, is quite a bit younger than her three brothers -- almost a contemporary of her sisters-in-law, which makes their overprotectiveness understandable (sort of). The story begins as Sinjin overhears a conversation and annnounces to one of the conversants, Colin Kinross, a Scottish earl, that she is just what he is looking for in a wife. Although this is enough to establish Sinjin's unconventional nature, I found that reading about her exploits in her brothers' stories enriched my appreciation of her spirit.

Coulter's Sherbrooke series translate very well in the audio book format. The talented narrator is able to project the different characters through tonal qualities, inflection and regional speech patterns.

The MP3 format is a pleasure for those of us who listen to audio books to make lengthy workout sessions tolerable.

The Heiress Bride Bride Book 3 Catherine Coulter 9780515111316 Books Reviews

I read this book man many many many years ago, i loved it, SInjun stayed with me, until i bought the whole series, the first 3 books are my fave,, but they are classic and timeless, i read them over and over and now they are on my tablet, i dont have to buy them from reading them to death!
The Heriess Bride is no. Three in the series. Fun from start to finish. Sinjin is so full of life. She leads Collen on a merry Chase.
Okay it was good but not Great I am glad l finally know what kind of man the only female married.I am glad she found someone just like her brothers
IRENE FROM TN
She is one of my favorite characters. I especially liked the part when she noticed Colin for the first time. Ms. Coulter did her character justice between the two books Sherbrooke Bride and the Heiress Bride.
If I can rate it a four and a half, I would
I am officially done with this series by finally reading this book that has been in my TBR folder for 18 months. I think the main problem is that Ms Coulter writes some disturbing stuff for a romance author. Whilst the story in this particular book isn't terrible, the disturbing scenes stay with the reader. Basically the h chases the H to the point of getting him to marry her for her fortune. She is under no illusions, he needs a fortune and she's willing to marry him so that he can get it. They know nothing about each other when they elope to escape the h's very protective brothers (they were Hs in other books in this series).

+++Spoilers+++
The consummation of the marriage was very, very disturbing. The h truly suffered and the H was only interested in his own pleasure. The fact that he took her twice in a very painful (especially to read) manner was bad enough but the 3rd time in anger definitely seemed like rape to me. I just cannot condone this stuff and will not be reading any more of this author's books.
Lost a lot of sleep because I had read what happened next. A naive young English lass sets her sites for Scottish Earl .She was outspoken and a tomboy and was a proper gentleman. There were so many situations that I could not put the book down. Loved every minute of it
Having read Coulters first two Bride novels, and fell in love with the only Sherbrooke girl child during those, I was excited to see that she got her own book. However, I was slightly disappointed that our heroine was not as outrageous as she came across in the previous stories. She is all grown up, so that accounts for some of it, but she got tamed a little too much by Ms. Coulter. The story centers around Joan "Sinjun" Sherbrooke and Colin Kinross, who is a penniless Scottish nobleman. They meet, and marry--on one side it is a marriage of convenience, on the other it is with the hope that it will turn out like her brothers' happy, love/lust-filled marriages (guess whose side is whose). Wealthy Sinjun gets to Colin's home in Scotland, and all hell breaks loose. Throw in slightly neglected children, a pair of ghosts, a crazy aunt, and a dead wife, and you have a historical soap opera. Only Coulter could possibly hold the readers' attention throughout all this, but with Sinjun's wit and Colin's annoying manliness, she manages to scrape together an entertaining story. Definitely worth the read, especially if you have already started the series.
